SUPERDESIGN MARKET ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL, SOUTHBANK CENTRE PART OF THE LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL FRIDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 6pm-9pm SATURDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 10am-7pm SUNDAY 23 SEPTEMBER 10am-6pm Following the successful launch of the Super Design Market at the Truman Brewery during last year’s London Design Festival, Scarlet Projects will again present the Super Design Market at the London Design Festival on Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September. This year it will be held in The Ballroom of the newly refurbished Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, the ‘hub’ of the London Design Festival for 2007. The Super Design Market is a curated selling market, with products from Britain’s best up and coming and established designers. Over 30 products have been selected by a panel of respected design curators including Claire Catterall from Scarlet Projects, Sorrel Hershberg from The British Council, Lauren Parker from the Victoria and Albert Museum, Andreé Cook from Spring Projects, and Annabelle Campbell from the Crafts Council. Products are limited edition and batch produced work selling for between £5 and £100. Designers selected include: Michael Marriott, Simon Maidment, Martino Gamper, Frauke Stegman, David Weatherhead, Tim Parsons, Jordi Canudas, Alexandre Bettler, Gitta Gschwendtner, Gore&Jones, Nadine Jarvis, Richard Shed, Sam Johnson, Ulrika Jarl, Front Yard, Andre Klauser, Michael Anastassiades, Carl Clerkin, Sato Hisao and Tithi Kutchamuch. The Super Design Market is supported for the second year by the Arts Council England, and by Southbank Centre. Sarah Weir, Executive Director, Arts Council England, London says, ‘Super Design Market offers an enticing opportunity to purchase original and affordable works. It creates a platform where visitors can really get involved – where they can meet and talk to established and up-and-coming designers in a unique, curated environment.
