Applied Arts at Middlesex University

The BA (Hons) course in Applied Arts at Middlesex University is about the application of the idea - developing a process that leads to creative concepts for furniture, product, or domestic tableware, alongside more personal concept-based objects for a gallery or public arts forum. It is a challenging three-dimensional course using a breadth of materials that include wood, metals, ceramics, plastics and glass. Students explore their ideas through direct hands-on experience of materials and workshop processes. The approach is to guide students towards identifying and investigating their individual pathway in the visual arts, which leads to real diversity across student work.
