| Design Consultancy for
Bloomberg Since autumn 2001 we have been working on student-based projects with Bloomberg. This involves curating a series of temporary installations in five office lobby areas to act as visually interesting, engaging and interactive spaces for sitting, reading, or meeting informally. Design students were asked to create furniture for these spaces giving them both an opportunity to learn about Bloomberg and the chance to create their first real project for a client. Initial design ideas are presented by the students to Bloomberg staff for comment and to ensure that the staff are involved and gain an understanding of the design process. This has proved very popular with the Bloomberg staff and has led to an additional furniture project at Bloomberg. This additional seating area is next to Bloomberg's Kitchen and is used as a reception by Bloomberg employees for visitors. Colleges involved in this on-going project are from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, Kingston University, Ravensbourne College, Manchester Metropolitan University, Middlesex University, Goldsmiths University College, Central St. Martins.
