SAT/3

Sat/3 – 7 December 2002

Now in its third year, SAT/3 The Clerkenwell Design Trail organised by Scarlet Projects is an annual event that locates Clerkenwell as the centre of design in London. Twelve of the leading design furniture and carpet manufacturers are coming together to host an informal design day on Saturday 7th December from 12 noon to 7pm. New products, fresh from ORGATEC, as well as current collections, will be on display. Food from Clerkenwell restaurants and cafes such as Moro and Carluccio’s will be on offer, adding to the local flavour.
SAT/3 will take place in the following showrooms: Bene,
Fritz Hansen, Girsberger, K+N International, Kusch+Co, Orangebox, Milliken Carpet, Sedus, Wilkhahn, and WJ White.

Visitors will have the chance to win fabulous furniture prizes, plus a weekend for two at the Ice Hotel in Northern Lapland, Sweden. There is an additional prize for those who pre-register by sending their details to sat3designtrail@hotmail.com. Invitees to the Clerkenwell Design Trail are designers, architects and specifiers from major practices in London and the South East.

As Christmas will be just around the corner, there will be a selection of designs from the best of London’s young designer-makers on sale offering ideal stocking fillers and gifts to visitors. There will also be a Santa’s Grotto and entertainment for children.

Karma Cabs (decorated with Bollywood style interiors) and a pink Rolls Royce will ferry visitors around the trail. Hot coffee will be available en route.

Graphic Design for SAT/3 is by Multistorey.

This cushion was very adeptly hand knitted by Rhonda Drakeford of Multistorey, to illustrate their graphics idea for The Clerkenwell Design Trail. We were very impressed by such dedication to design and ideas, as well as the excellent craftsmanship - talents shared by Multistorey's other partner, Harry Woodrow.
