Design Rabbit is a series of independent and free design events taking place during the London Design Festival (Sept 15–30) organised by Scarlet Projects.

Design Rabbit aims to bring more interesting and unusual ways of presenting and disseminating design, provoking discussion and debate. Its prime motive is to get people together to think and talk about design, to showcase new ideas, and simply to be a part of something that’s engaging and enjoyable, that questions and inspires.

Design Rabbit is based in and around Clerkenwell and Shoreditch, the ‘hub’ of creative London and home to the majority of London’s design community. We hope it will contribute to a much greater sense of ‘festival’, where many individual and unexpected things are happening, taking advantage of the different buildings, businesses and spaces around the area, and giving people the opportunity to enjoy ‘bite-size’ design experiences to fit around their work and play schedule.

If you want to get involved next year – let us know!

A gastric film screening
Tuesday 20th September 7pm

An evening hosted by Martino Gamper, Alex Rich and åbäke as an extension of their famous ‘Trattoria Capella’ gastronomic experiences hosted in various bars and galleries where an invited audience gets to sample some extraordinary cooking in a lovingly designed environment.

For this event, Martino, Alex and åbäke will go one step further…

In front of a giant screen showing the film TAMPOPO, the designers will act out the culinary scenes, cooking the perfect noodle soup. The audience will be able to relax, mingle, have a chat, all the while enjoying the sounds and aromas of the cooking while watching it being lovingly prepared – both on screen and in real life. As the evening wears on, they will also be able to enjoy the taste as the soup gets served up.
